About the Role

Job Description & Summary
As part of the continued growth and innovation of our Asia Pacific ESG strategy, PwC has an opportunity for an experienced leader and subject matter expert to join our firm in the Asia Pacific Region to support our continued growth in the Energy Transition space. It is envisaged that the role would be regionally focused for the right candidate, working closely with our colleagues in both Practice (Lines of Service LoS) & Markets (Sales & Client Engagements) focused areas.

In line with our purpose to ‘build trust in society and solve important problems’, we at PwC are responding to this need, with the aim to be the most credible and pre-eminent adviser in ESG globally. Our New Equation strategy positions PwC as the advisor that builds trust and delivers sustained outcomes across our network. This is backed with real substance - with plans to invest $12bn globally across all areas over the next 5 years, creating 100,000 net new jobs, and a particular focus on strengthening our ESG capabilities across the firm. It is a critical focus for PwC as we expand across the ESG ecosystem, and we firmly believe we have a unique role to help re-shape the global economy and society.

This role will provide:
The opportunity to contribute significantly to key decisions, including the overall strategic direction of our organization in ESG within the Asia Pacific region.
The ability to provide leadership on a wide range of technical and business issues impacting our core markets and clients.
The opportunity to work with our world class teams, helping to identify ESG opportunities within our existing range of services and being able to help address the growth in ESG needs for our clients.
To help build a world class team as part of the PwC ESG Centre of Excellence and to help grow Energy Transition across the region.
To achieve our aims, we at PwC are combining our established world-leading Sustainability & Climate Change practice with our diverse capabilities across assurance, consulting, tax and beyond: bringing the best of our firm together to help our clients build more sustainable businesses for a stronger world and make real, transformative impact. This range of capabilities makes PwC uniquely well-placed to deliver in the exponentially growing ESG advisory and assurance markets, and we’re actively investing across all our service lines to implement this at a national, regional and global level. We’re already working with some of the biggest, most iconic organizations in the world on a range of services from Net Zero transformation and ESG strategy, to ESG reporting and assurance; from industry-leading regulatory insight to sustainable finance and responsible investment advice.

Position Responsibilities

The role of the Asia Pacific (APac) ESG Virtual Centre of Excellence (VcoE) Team is to support the development of ESG client delivery capability & capacity across the region. The Territories have primary responsibility for the depth & breadth of services/clients, the ESG VCoE supports and accelerates this by:
Linking teams across the region to be able to share and collaborate increasing the ability to make PwC’s best people credentials available to the greatest possible range of clients
Client-Facing & Business Development Responsibility that will support exponential growth across the Energy Transition sector in the Asia Pacific region
Develop strategy that supports an increase in market awareness of ESG at PwC and translates into Sales and Project opportunities within the Energy Transition sector
Market leading client focused thought leadership, understanding the PwC landscape and supplementing / identifying delivery alliances to support our continued growth
Enabling the use and integration of digital assets that drive the efficiency and / or effectiveness of ESG service offerings or enhance our client propositions (i.e. help us win work)
Helping our territory teams expand the range of services to our clients so that we are responsive to and anticipatory of emerging or future client needs and sector developments
Engaging with and driving “ESG is everything we do” across all practice areas (for example, embedding climate risk into the audit teams)
Strengthen our regional and global outlook to ESG services in recognition that the majority of our clients (and our staff) see ESG as inter-connected and as a series of developing, major trans-boundary issues requiring trans-boundary solutions.
The ESG VCoE does this through developing and maintaining strong relationships with the territory teams, regional leadership, global ESG leadership team, and other regional, sectoral and delivery teams.
